Sauvignon blanc 2023 – Wine of Origin Darling

The grapes hail from the old Versfeld family farm is the prestigious Groenekloof ward in Darling, where many esteemed wine producers source their grapes, especially Sauvignon Blanc, from.

The vineyards are all Western to South West facing, making the aspect perfect for growing grapes. The Bush Vines and trellised grapes are planted on decomposed granite soils, and age between 16 and 20 years old, producing low yields and concentrated favours. 

Fig Leaf, white peach, gooseberry and lime on the nose. Citrus zest and gooseberry follows through on the palate, along with subtle guava and light tropical notes. Fresh acidity and well-rounded mouthfeel.

The penguin pays homage to a dear friend and colleague that introduced the owners, as well as the Atlantic Ocean that provide the optimal conditions for the area where the grapes are grown and vinified.
